Fees are cheaper than patent offices. why?

At the patent office, after receiving a request from the customer, the documents are manually prepared and processed by the Japan Patent Office. After that, the clerk issues an invoice to confirm the payment.

On the other hand, in this service, documents are automatically created by a computer program and the procedure is done online at the Japan Patent Office. The program also issues invoices and confirms payments. For this reason, labor costs can be reduced compared to patent offices.

Can I get a certificate etc. after payment?

Yes. you can get.

A pension receipt will be sent from the JPO within 3-4 weeks after the procedure is completed.

Do I need to contact the previous patent office if I request the Japanese IP Payment Service?

I think it's a good idea to tell the patent office that you're outsourcing to a pension management office.

It is common sense in the industry that pension management offices are cheaper to manage than patent offices, and there is no patent attorney who does not know the pension management office.

In some cases, the patent office outsources to the pension management office. In this case, the right holder is required to bear the double fee of the pension management office and the patent office.
