0. Basic information

It takes a minimum of half a year from application to registration (it will be faster if you use the accelerated examination system)

It is harder to register a trademark in China than in Japan.

1. Prior trademark search

Investigate whether the trademark you are trying to register in China is registered.

The investigation will be conducted at the China Trademark Office . It will take about 2 business days to complete the survey.

2. Trademark application

Prepare the following required documents and apply for trademark registration in China.

・ Application (Enter the applicant's name and address in Chinese and English)

・ Power of attorney (Please send the corporate seal or personal seal as data on the seal)

・ Identification card (Please send the data with your corporate seal or personal seal on the seal)

If the applicant is a corporation, a copy of the registered copy (issued within half a year)

If the applicant is an individual, a copy of the passport or driver's license

3. Chinese trademark examination

The application will be examined by the China Trademark Office. The examination result usually comes out in about 5 to 10 months.

If you are rejected, you can also submit a written opinion / amendment to refute.
